Dental Crowns, Bridges, Implants and More
Restorative dentistry helps fix any current issues you may be experiencing in regards to your dental health. We offer dental crowns, bridges, implants, root canal treatments, fillings, and inlays/onlays to repair your teeth. Strengthen your bite and smile wide with restorative services from Dr. Kin.
Crowns
Crowns are often the best choice for teeth that are severely damaged. A crown is a dental cap that completely covers a tooth or implant. They are also used after cosmetic dentistry for added strength. Most crown material is completely undetectable.
Bridges
If your tooth is lost or broken, the strength of your bite can decrease, your speech can be affected, and it leaves your gap vulnerable for disease. A bridge replaces the gap without the need for a new root by using the adjoining teeth as support. A false tooth replaces your gap, with two caps on either side to cover the adjacent teeth as a way to securely keep the bridge in place.
Implant Crowns
Implant crowns are the surgical insertion of synthetic roots into the bone followed by a crown topping to make a strong, new base. The procedure is simple and can be done in our office to give you a healthy and natural smile.
Root Canal Treatment
Your tooth’s nerve tissue and blood supply are located underneath it in the canal. Sometimes due to a crack in the tooth, bacteria can make its way in and cause an infection. A root canal treatment removes the infection and replaces the decayed pulp. The opening is then sealed, with a crown often placed atop the tooth, to prevent future infection. Symptoms of an infected root canal include:
- Sensitivity to cold and hot
- Teeth discolouration
- Swollen gums
- Jaw, neck, and chewing pain
- Enamel chipping
Fillings
We use tooth coloured material (composite resin) to make a natural looking smile. More than just an attractive alternative, it adds bonding strength and requires less drilling on the tooth. In rare occurrences, amalgam material (metal fillings) may be required.
Inlays/Onlays
Inlays and onlays are used to replace old fillings. Inlays fit inside the tooth while an onlay extends over the cusps. They are prepared in the lab using your tooth structure to create a precise imprint. Unlike a crown, the entire surface isn’t replaced, only the broken part. This allows a comfortable fit and creates a natural-looking appearance while protecting your tooth from future damage.
